Your nighttime skincare routine is just as important as your daytime routine. We all are not perfect and sometimes skip out on our routine. But keeping your skin moisturized and having an effective routine can reduce aging, acne, and discoloration in our skin. I am going to share with you guys the steps I take to take care of my skin before bedtime.
Step 1: Remove any makeup from the day.
The product I like to use to remove my makeup (when I do wear makeup) is the makeup remover wipes by Neutrogena.
Step 2: Cleanse your skin.
I alternate between cleansers but the one I have been using lately is by the brand, First Aid Beauty. It does a great job of cleaning my skin and don't leave it feeling dry.
Step 3: Tone the skin
A lot of people don't use a toner. I tend to use a toner anytime I have worn makeup. The toner tightens your skin. I like to say the toner sets the tone. It's the first step you take before you begin to apply your products. I tend to stick to witch hazel as my toner. It has been doing the job for me so far and I don't see a reason to change.
Step 4: Apply my nighttime serum.
Depending on how my skin is behaving, determines what type of serum I will use. Because my skin is behaving well, I have been using Retinol Fusion PM by Peter Thomas Roth. This serum really brings life to your face, and especially for those bags under your eyes.
Step 5: MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE!
It's a must that you don't skip this step. It's great to moisturize with a good hydrating moisturizer or night mask. My favorite one right now is by Tatcha and it's the Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate. It's pricey, but worth every dollar.
Sometimes my routine and the products that I use changes depending on how my skin is behaving. But I wanted to share with you guys the steps I take at night for a luminous, wrinkle-free and thriving skin and hope that it encourages you to take more care of your skin.
